Do Goldendoodles like to play?

Goldendoodles are very energetic dogs and like to play with toys and family members. They enjoy playtime with other people more than they do alone. Goldendoodles love to use their mouths to grab things like soft toys. So fetching game is always a fun game for them. They like to play for hours throwing toys in the air and chasing themselves.

One of the reasons that Goldendoodles really enjoy playing with people is because they seem to think much more humanly than other dog breeds. Their intelligence, natural curiosity, and keen sense of fun make them extremely compatible playmates. Their captivating sense of humor is actively demonstrated if they are not put under too much control or if they are not made boring by too little positive attention.

What Games Do Goldendoodles Like To Play?

Once you bring your Goldendoodles home, it is important that you participate in their daily life. Like children, your dog needs frequent interaction and playtime to keep him happy and continue his development.  Here is a list of five games that Goldendoodles really likes to play.

1. Hiding Treats

Goldendoodles really enjoy this game because they love treats. Take some of your dog’s favorite treats and hide them around your house in various places. Consider placing them under rugs, behind chairs, under tables, or behind doors. Your dog will likely exhaust himself looking for the treats and get a great workout in the process. Just remember to limit yourself to a reasonable amount of treats. Giving too many can make them sick or defeat the goal of exercising by causing weight gain.

2. Playing With Interactive Dog Toys

Goldendoodles like to play with interactive toys like chase toys, chew toys, and puzzle toys. Since a Goldendoodle likes to chase, you can make your own chase toy by tying a toy to the end of a string and tying it to a stick that you can shake for your dog to chase. You can also make your own puzzle with a muffin tin, tennis balls, and some treats.

3. Agility Training

Goldendoodles enjoy agility training and are a good way to keep your dog busy in every way possible, both in body and mind. And the best part is that this can be done in your garden. Place things like tables and hula hoops and have your dog circle around, under, or on top of them. You can even work on balancing smaller items. It helps you build a bond with your gold as you work together towards a common goal.

4. Three Cup Game

My 2 years old Goldendoodle really loves this game. The 3 cup game is a very good starter nose work game. Take out 3 cups and line them up in a row in front of your dog. To start putting a treat under one of the cups while your dog is watching, give it the thumbs up to show it which is the right cup. When your dog chooses correctly, praise him and let him eat. Once your dog seems to get the hang of it, you can make it more difficult by mixing the cups after placing his favorite treat.

5. Fetch

When choosing a toy for a fetch game, be sure to engage your Goldendoodle’s senses and natural curiosity. You will need to choose a toy that is the right size, a different texture, and is malleable.

A good fetch game toy will fit in your dog’s mouth with ease. It should also bend easily enough that you can change its shape by pressing on it with your hand. This will help your dog to hold it securely before returning it to you.
